Croftfoot Primary School has been open throughout lockdown for the children of key workers and vulnerable families. During this time the staff have become aware of an increase in needs among families and in the wider community. The school has been trying to help by delivering food, books and other supplies to families who are isolating. However as more and more people are needing this help the local church, Croftfoot Parish Church, has been asked to step in and assist by taking over the running of the food bank. Needs are such that contributions from here would be a huge help.

Here’s what’s really needed:

Children's books

School supplies and art/craft materials (paper, pencils, crayons etc.)

Summer clothes for children, teenagers and adults

School uniform - grey trousers and skirts, white or pale blue shirts, pale blue polo shirts, black shoes

Toys - these need to be wipe-clean (and so preferably plastic, not soft toys)

Toiletries for children and adults

Cleaning products

Toilet rolls

Also food, especially:

Dried food e.g. noodles and rice. They have plenty pasta

Tinned Goods such as Tomatoes, Tuna, Sweetcorn, peas carrots, etc,.

cooking oil

stock cubes

Treats would also be appreciated for the children e.g. biscuits, crisps, sweets (please, though, not ones containing gelatin)

If you are able to donate any of these items they would be very much appreciated. To maintain a physical distance, we’re opening Orchardhill from 10.00am until 12noon on Mondays and Wednesdays from now on for you to drop off items you’re donating. Enter by the Tower door and leave by the other exit and we shall keep away from one another. Isabella or I shall be around to direct you, but essentially if you leave items at the marked areas in the north transept, we will arrange to take these across each week to Croftfoot.
