Visiting St George’s Tron - Sunday 1 October at 3.00pm   You’re invited to join us as we visit St George’s Tron Church on 1 October to learn about this city-centre church and why they needed to be a chameleon congregation, looking different during the day and then in the evening, and not looking very traditional at all (despite their heritage). They also have a fantastic cafe and meeting space.

It would help to know if you plan to come and if you have any particular questions that you would like answered - if you are, would you mind sending me a quick email to lfbarr@gmail.com

If you would li‚Äčke a lift, we'll be leaving the church car park at 2.20pm. If you're making your own way there, then please meet at Gorbals Church 163 Buchanan Street, Glasgow G1 2JX at 3.00pm.

Save the Date  A Christmas Fayre will be held on Saturday 25th November.  This event will hopefully be a major fundraising event the principal objective of which is the raising of funds as a contribution towards the very substantial capital expenditure which the church faces in near future.  So far there has been an enthusiastic response from members of the congregation and if any of you would like to offer your services in any capacity please contact either Gillian Brogan or Isabella Hood.

Giffnock Theatre Players  celebrate its 75th Anniversary this year.  It is a local community group which consistently provides a very high standard of amateur theatrical productions in the form of three plays annually. This October (25th-28th), they present Noel Coward’s classic comedy, Blithe Spirit.  Tickets are priced at £13, £15 and £25.  There is also a special offer available for parties of 10 or more.  It might be a good idea to have a group from Orchardhill enjoy a social evening together and support a local club at the same time.  If anyone is interested in this production, please let Shona Cook know today.

Lodging House Mission and City Mission   The Harvest Thanksgiving collection on Sunday 1 October will once again be split between the Lodging House Mission and the City Mission.

The Harvest donations last most of the year, and the number of hours required to sort out all that they receive into correct product and date is huge. To help with this task, the Mission is asking if we would please keep to the list below prepared by their kitchen staff.  Doing so will have a very big impact on the work involved and space requirements.
